I chose Hypnotherapy as a career because the mind is a mysterious and miraculous entity & with the focused state of hypnosis the possibilities are infinite.
I enjoy using my training to help guide you to self-discovery and success. In assisting you through this process you are able to enjoy the wonderful benefits provided in the calm state & atmosphere hypnosis provides.
I desired a career that allowed me to share the benifits of being centered and serene, while providing you with new ways to create peace of mind in a sometimes hectic world.
Hypnosis offers wider vistas of awareness giving greater variety of choices. The subconscious mind controls our bodies immune system, emotions, self-esteem, and beliefs. I am fascinated by the mind, body, spirit connection. Like hypnosis, when we enjoy the intricacies of the mind new doors open to expand our insights & creat new paths to explore.

My business name,” Aurora Hypnotherapy” sheds light on my fundamental principle. I offer help to people by,” Illuminating new horizons through hypnosis”.

My Story
I have personally reaped the healing benefits that hypnosis provides.

Back in 1971, at the age of six, I was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. By then, it had spread to cover the area the size of a football in my abdominal area. Back then, my prognosis was bleak to say the least.  I was rushed to surgery.

There was a man in the neighborhood that asked me, "If I could have anything I wanted, what would it be."  I said. "I would like to have my house covered with Christmas lights so that Santa couldn’t miss it."  Even though most didn’t believe I would get to see them, he granted my wish. I did make it home and the sight was a dream come true.

Soon afterwards I started chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The statistics were still stacked against my survival. The side affects of the treatments were very unpleasant. I would even start becoming physically ill before the treatments. My mother took me to a self-hypnosis meeting. There I learned to use Hypnosis for the Pain of the treatments and the tests. I learned to use Hypnosis for easing the nausea and side affects of the therapies. I was just a kid but even then, I had the power to use my mind to help heal my body. Against overwelming odds. I survived.

Since then I have continued to use Hypnosis. I have found prescribed pain medication far inferior to hypnosis for the control of pain.  Hypnosis does not have the nasty side affects of the drugs.

There are many times since my youth were I have benefited from self-hypnosis; I have used it for dental work, cracked ribs (One time I continued to ski for the day and another time I went for a 4 mile walk.), again with a biking accident were I was far from medical help and a piecd of my ankle was gone, I had to ride a bike several miles for help (Not only did it block the pain but it decreased the blood loss to almost nil.). Most recently, I was in a life threatening auto accident.  I automatically put myself into self-hypnosis. I continued to used this powerful tool to manage pain after surgery and during my healing, forgoing any pain medications. I also used visualization techniques to help speed the whole healing process along.
My Doctors were amazed.

I have also enjoyed the benefits of shedding over 50 pounds with hypnosis.
Hypnosis has become such a large part of my life that it is now just second nature. The power of the mind is such that the possibilities are unlimited.

Aurora, Goddess of Light

was born from the Coming of the Morning Star

The aurora was named after the Roman goddess of dawn, who brings light out of the darks of night everyday.
Others may as so be reminded of

 Sleeping Beauty (Tchaikovsky) Princess Aurora.

Not unlike real life, in the ballet Aurora goes into a deep sleep and when awakened her life is transformed and she lives happily ever after.
